To keep or not to keep?

To keep or not to keep?

The holiday season is now over and the question for a lot of us is, are we suppose to keep our “lovely” Poinsettia or not. The truth is that our long time favourite is actually a tropical plant originating in Mexico. You can enjoy your plant for the month of January and longer. Here are a few tips on caring for your Poinsettia plant:1-avoid any kind of draft, hot or cold.2-do not let your plant dry out completely, keep soil evenly moist.3-Remove any decorative cover when watering,  you do not want your Poinsettia to sit in water the roots will root.We hope that these tips will help the ones that answer “keep” to the question and that they enjoy a truly wonderful plant. Good luck!

From the team at Flora we wish you a happy, healthy new year.

Flora International successfully put on their first floral demonstration at Plaza Pointe Claire!  The one and a half hour demonstration had many on lookers, wanting to see the latest trends in christmas design.
One lucky attendee went home with one of our spectacular designs.  Mrs Fuller left with a fresh Christmas wreath decorated with pine cones, white woven wicker balls, rosemary, baubles, lambs ear, and a large bow of wired wool.  Other designs were a dogwood tree decorated with cymbidium orchids and red baubles, and a three vase arrangement of amaryllis, red roses, mauve baubles, pine cones and winter greens.  Stay tuned for our next demo, maybe you'll take home one of our special designs!!

What I loved about working with Yvonne, was she wanted to have fun, make her wedding a party to remember, where guests could kick off their shoes and feel relaxed.  The room was decked out with cruiser tables for cocktails with mini cube floral arrangements of deep red roses. On the dinning side the tables were white with a black paisley overlay, the flowers were in a clear cube vase wrapped with a variegated pendenus leaf, red and black baccara roses, red celosia, burgundy carnations, aubergine calla lilies, variegated pit, and ruscus.  The entire room was windows overlooking a golf course.  Truly beautiful!!

Nothing less than an elegant, romantic affair at the Windsor Ballrooms in Montreal.  The bridesmaids wore a bronze gold dress and the M O H wore a dusty pink dress, which perfectly matched the tall floral arrangements that were natural earth tones and soft pink roses, with a gold muccara orchids reflecting in the water.

A gorgeous wedding at the groom's family home in the eastern townships.  The bridal party flowers were dusty pink roses, with the bride carrying a stunning bouquet of cymbidium petals and peony. The ceremony held outside, with rose petals defining the isle to wooden arches adorned in roses, and two large urns of blues, whites, and dusty pinks on either side.  The reception was blue delphinium, orchids, hydrangea and roses.. Simply elegant.

This wedding was truly incredible! When Onye told me she wanted her flowers to match a fabric she was having shipped from her home in Nigeria I couldn't wait to see it.  It was absolutely beautiful!  It was a clear choice for the flowers, esperance roses were the perfect match.

Traveling all the way from Bordeaux France to the Beautiful waterfront Forest and Stream Club in Dorval, Quebec. This couple designed an intimate wedding to remember.  Leah wore a vintage style dress and bracelet, and carried a hand-tied bouquet of roses.  Susanne wore a custom made black suit.  The table was set for 18 and adorned in deep red flowers and white hydrangea.  It was beautiful.

A vineyard wedding in the chapel of Ste.Agnes.  The isle's were adorned with white dendrobium orchids, and tied with raffia.  The Bride held a beautiful hand-tied bouquet of vendella roses, and ivy, wrapped with raffia. Ever so intimate and country like.
