Amanda And John's Tropical Paradise

Our shop's owner and head designer, Amanda and husband John celebrated their wedding on May 19th 2012.  It was held at Canvas Art Gallery in Lachine.  They had their closest friends and relatives celebrating with them.
Designers Sue, Vicki, Caitlin, Diane, and Amanda herself created a breathtaking scape of topical wonders for all to enjoy. The flowers were, by far, absolutely stunning! There were tall cylinder vases with Haliconia. Thin gold wire waterfalls of green antherium hung from the ceiling.

As well as green antherium and tea light candles circling the center of the tables. All the window sills had decorated
potted plants, such as purple phalanopsis, vanda orchids. Large white paper lanterns hung from the ceiling over the dance floor.  Giant urns held tall, tropical arrangements, flanking the head table.  On the head table itself, were large bowls with red antherium wrapped inside.  As for the wedding party, in lieu of traditional bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres, the women wore diamond necklace corsages fitted with vanda orchids. The men wore vanda orchids as well.  An unbelievable display of talent and creativity throughout.

This wedding had fun written all over it. Amanda and John treated their guests to a fabulous salsa dance for their
entrance. The wedding dress Amanda wore was designed by local designer, Doreen.  She and John took dance lessons
from Morris at the San Tropez dance studio and Amanda had rented her salsa dress from there as well.  Good friend
and amazing bartender Mike Moore treated the guests to rum punches and Mojitos. Mouth watering hors d'oeuvres were served and a delicious 5 course meal,  catered by Best Bites Catering.  The dance floor was on fire most of the
night, there was even some table dancing, thanks to Uptown Xpress Productions.  The wedding cake was a light and fluffy lemon pound cake in orange fondant created by the wonderful "Cake Lady" Liz Hatcher. It was accompanied by an enchanting candy bar of gummies, candies, and marshmallows, all showcased in fun vases of different heights, shapes and sizes, provided by Sweet Expressions.  Cupcakes and other sweets were also offered to guests to take home.  The bonbonieres, a bottle of red wine with a personalized label were created by Microvin, paired with a beautiful glass, wine stopper.

A photo booth set up in the back was a hilarious and ingenious way for guests to mingle and let loose.  So much so, that
some of the floral arrangements ended up as props in the photos!  Thanks to photographer Mike Manoukian @ www.michaelmanphoto.com,

Amanda and John will have many wonderful memories of their special day.

None of this would have been possible if not for the exceptional Rachel Gervais, from An English Rose luxury wedding planning.  Logistics and timing were impeccable, leaving Amanda and John to enjoy their wedding without a single worry.

Amanda and John would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who were involved in making their day so truly special.
